We would like to Welcome Ken & Elaine McGrath to the club!

Boat Club Events coming up:

June 5th, 2010 Open House- We asked members to come to the meeting with ideas for food and also price quotes.  The only member who had quotes was Christine Monroe who called 3 places for shish-ka-bobs and also chicken breasts.  A vote was taken and we decided to purchase the shish-ka-bobs pre-made since there is a lot of preparation the day prior to the Open House- this is 1 less thing we have to worry about.  We also voted to serve chicken breast sandwiches and corn on the cob since we have the corn roaster.

We ask for all members to donate a raffle basket to be raffled the day of Open House.  This can be any type of basket and any size. 

Also remember that each member is responsible to sell 6 Spring Raffle tickets. If you have sold them already please turn your money & stubs in to Christine Monroe.

Future Events- Denise the social director brought up the idea of having a weekend poker run, where we would start by going to Hammond Marina and spending the day at the beach then spend the night there and come back to the river to finish the poker run.  Ken Pohlman offered to get a list of dates of events for Hammond so we can plan an evening when they may have entertainment scheduled.  We tabled this till the list of events so we can schedule a date.

Light Up the River- Bill Umgelder will have more details after he speaks with the representative from Blue Island- will have more answers at the next meeting May 21st.

Attendance Award- We asked Elaine the new member to pull the winning name, and she pulled her own!!

Congratulations Elaine on winning $75.00.  Next attendance award will be at the next meeting May 21st!

April Birthdays: This is new to the newsletter and thought we could wish our members who are celebrating their birthday the month of the newsletter.  We have 3 members who are celebrating and one member has hit the BIG 60! And that is our commodore Ken Pohlman!  The remaining 2 members I will not divulge their ages but are also celebrating is Rich Mein & Butch Ernst!  Hope all of you have a wonderful birthday celebration!

Next Meeting- May 21st- we ask all members to be present since this is the last meeting before our Open House.
